McLaughlan Motorworks News
There has been much rumor and speculation about the current status of McLaughlan Motorworks, at this time I would like to fill everyone in on what’s happening.
First, let me start by thanking all of you for your support and use of my services over the past 20 years. I have been involved with automotive repair for over 30 years now, 27 years as my profession. I have spent most of those years working 7 days a week. It is now time for a change, time to slow things down and enjoy life while I’m still young and relatively healthy. I am on my way to the Caribbean permanently to start a new life.
At the moment I am “commuting” to the Dominican Republic. The shop will be open for business when I am in Canada on a limited basis, Tuesday to Friday daytime hours. I will be available by appointment outside of those hours for parts purchases and pick up only. The phone number is the same, 613-384-7017, please call and leave a message, I will get back to you. Alternatively, no matter where I am, I’m always only an email away for questions, appointment booking and general advice. I can be reached at fastwrench@hotmail.com.
Many of you have been asking when this will all take place. Closure of the shop and my departure south is on “Dominican time”. Anyone who has traveled to the Caribbean will know exactly what I mean by that. A few things need to happen before this is permanent. Namely liquidation of the shop, cars, bikes, 1000’s of British car parts and the sale of my house. Please contact me if you need anything. The faster things are sold the sooner I’ll be out of here. When everything is gone so am I.
Once again, thank you for your patronage. For the moment, I’m still here to serve you.
Sincerely,
Michael McLaughlan
